Charlie and Jon chose the Tuscan countryside for their elopement, and they said their vows at a stone hotel set among olive groves and cypress trees. This page follows their day from the first quiet hour to the last glass of champagne.

Their story

Their elopement day in Tuscany

The morning began slowly, with the hills stretching out beyond the windows. Both of them took their time getting ready in the old farmhouse rooms, among worn rugs, velvet armchairs and soft light, and there was space for a few quiet moments before the day began.

Then came their first look, in the garden. One of them waited on the lawn with their back turned while the other walked across the stone path, and then they stood together with the valley behind them. A few steps away, white roses were waiting on the lawn.

Their ceremony took place right there, in front of the Tuscan hills. They read their vows from folded cards, there were a few happy tears, and they exchanged rings and sealed it with a kiss, the hills framing them. A little rain only made the day softer: a clear umbrella came out, and some of the most tender photos of the day happened underneath it.

After the ceremony they wandered the grounds together, through a bright hallway, along gravel paths lined with cypresses and past the old ivy-covered stone house with its lantern lit. They ran across the grass with a long ribbon trailing behind them. As the light faded to blue, they walked back along the paths, and the day ended with champagne, a toast and a last kiss in a cosy stone lounge.
