Real couples · Lake Garda, Italy
Erika and Brian chose Lake Garda for their elopement, and they filled one day with everything they love: a morning getting ready together, portraits with a vintage green car, vows at a stone pergola, a boat ride across the lake and a private dinner to end the day. This page follows their day from the first photo to the last.
Planning an elopement in Italy means choosing between very different landscapes, and Lake Garda gives you cypress gardens, old stone terraces and a wide stretch of water in one place. If you are dreaming of a similar day, our Lake Garda elopement page shows how we plan it, and our Italy elopement guide shows the other places we love across the country.
Their story
The morning started in a calm, pale room, with a satin dress, a handwritten card and a bouquet waiting for them. It was a slow, happy start. Erika and Brian dressed side by side, laughing, helping each other with the last buttons and ribbons, and taking a few quiet minutes by the window before the day began.
Then they stepped out into the garden, where a vintage green convertible was waiting for them on a gravel drive between tall cypress trees. They leaned on it, kissed beside it, sat on the hood and walked away along the path with the car behind them. Erika wore sunglasses for a few of the frames, and the whole stretch feels relaxed and a little playful.
The ceremony took place at a round stone pergola above the lake, with climbing plants on its columns. Erika's long veil lifted in the wind as they held each other close. They read their vows from small books, shared a few tears and exchanged rings. A ribbon was wrapped around their hands, and the ceremony ended with a lift, a hug and a cheer.
After the ceremony came a toast and a berry-topped cake, which they cut together on a columned terrace. They stood by a bright blue pool, taking the afternoon slowly.
Then they went out onto the water. Erika and Brian climbed onto a wooden boat in their wedding clothes and crossed the lake toward a medieval castle on the shore, with Brian at the wheel for a while. A drone caught the boat leaving a long white wake behind it.
The day ended with a private dinner for the two of them, at a table set among pink and peach flowers under stone columns, with the lake in the distance.
Their story
Erika and Brian's elopement was an Already Designed Package, which means the setting, the schedule and the details were set up for them, so they only had to choose their date and arrive. Our planner Flor looked after the day, and the vintage car was added to the package for the garden portraits.
Every Somewhere Crazy elopement is planned from the first idea to the last toast, so couples can enjoy the day without stress. If you would like a Lake Garda elopement of your own, see how our Lake Garda elopements work and tell us what you imagine.
